Ideal for bread and pasta, this wheat is used to make the famous bread of Altamura. Their bread is typically yellow and will last for over a week without becoming stale. Certified organic and guaranteed to be grown and milled in the Altamura area by IGP certification.
Bread of Altamura, Puglia, is granted protected designation of origin (DOP) in Europe. By law, it can only be made using particular varieties of wheat, a certain specification of water, and a consistent production method, and must also have a final crust more than 3mm thick.
